The Independence Temple
Although this temple has yet to be built, it was the first temple commanded to be built in this dispensation.
This temple lot, located in Jackson County, Missouri, is the location of Adam-ondi-Aham, as revealed to the Prophet Joesph Smith. This temple site was dedicated in August, 1831, by Joseph Smith.
Due to persecution, the Latter-day Saints had to flee the area. Most of the property is now owned by the Community of Christ Church.

Hong Kong, China Temple
The Hong Kong Temple is located in the district of Kowloon Tong, on the Kowloon Peninsula, which is a suburb of Hong Kong. This temple building was the first high rise temple built by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It not only houses the House of the Lord, but also includes a Beehive Clothing outlet, a meetinghouse, a mission office, and apartments for the temple president and mission president, as well as underground parking. It is always fascinating to me how diverse the temples can be at different locations around the world.

Saint George, Utah Temple
The Saint George Temple is the oldest operating temple in Utah. It is also has the most sealing rooms in all of the temples; however, not all are currently active. This also is the first temple that performed endowments by proxy.
The temple site was locating on swampy ground, so the pioneers loaded the ground with volcanic rock from an old Mexican War cannon. This relic is on display in the visitors' center.
While in the Saint George temple, the Founding Fathers of the United States of America appeared twice to Wilford Woodruff, asking why their work had not yet been performed.

Salt Lake Temple
The Salt Lake Temple was the only temple dedicated by President Wilford Woodruff. This temple is also the largest of all temples with a total floor area of 385,000 square feet.
It was the fourth temple built, even though the pioneers started first on its construction. The construction of the magnificent building took 40 years to build. While the Salt Lake Temple was being built, the Saint George, Utah Temple, the Logan, Utah Temple, and the Manti, Utah Temple were all started and completed.
